Do You Know Jesus?

Do you want to learn more about the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God? We will look at what the Bible tells us about Him, but He is greater and better than all we can describe or understand. The references in brackets are from the Bible.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God (John 3.16), is the greatest and most important person in the whole universe. Because of this, I like to call Him the Lord Jesus. So I will often refer to Him as the Lord Jesus.

One day, the Lord Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” (Matthew 16.13). Many people had different opinions about Him. Some despised and rejected Him. Others tried to ignore Him. Some said He was a great prophet, but He was much more than that.

So He asked them another more personal question, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16.15-16). That answer was correct because it was what God the Father had revealed to Peter. So if someone asks you, “What do you think of Christ?” what will your answer be? The only reliable and correct answer comes from what God has told us in the Bible.

So how well do you know the Lord Jesus Christ? Millions of people all over the world today can tell you that they know Him in a very special way. To many He is nearer and dearer than some of their friends and family on earth. They have never actually seen Him, but they know Him and they love Him (1 Peter 1.8). They also know that they will see Him one day, and live with Him for ever in heaven. I hope that you are one of these people who know and love the Lord Jesus.

If you do not know Him for yourself as your Saviour, the best thing you can do is trust and accept Him now. He is able and willing to save all who come to Him (Hebrews 7.25). Are you asking, “What must I do to be saved?” The answer is, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved” (Acts 16.30-31).
